World Elder Abuse Awareness Day - "Pay It Forward" Walk



The Halton Regional Police Service have organized a “Pay it Forward” celebration of Seniors. 

It's happening on Thursday June 12th from 8am to 9am.

The Police will give you $10 Tim Horton's gift cards to hand out to the seniors who are walking.  

You will get volunteer hours for this event and get to partner with a senior and walk.

Qualifications & Experience:
  •  Applicant must be between 18 to 30 years of age and enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution, on a full-time basis for the 2013/2104 school year, returning to full-time studies in the fall of 2014
  • Ability to take written and verbal direction and follow through to complete assigned tasks
  • Experience working with a team and independently to complete various tasks
  • Willingness to complete a variety of jobs for various supervisors and levels of supervision
  • Able to estblish and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues and key stakeholders
  • An understanding of the unique experiences facing newcomer families and the process of integration into a new society
  • Experience with event planning an asset
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset
